I am so sick of people interfering with the way other parents should be raising children. Sesame Street pulled the Katy Perry episode because of protesting from parents. Ok obviously these parents do not want their kids seeing any part of the human body...Even breast that are fully covered. Good for them, but do not force your views on others!

Yeah this is sooo obscene!

Some people actually want to teach there kids that the human body is a beautiful thing and not something to be ashamed of. Nudity does not equal sex. Look at some the greatest painting, sculptures, etc. A large majority are nudes or partial nudes. If that turns you on you have some real problems.

People need take a chill pill if you do not want to you child to see the above simply don't let them view the episode, also do not take them in public since most teens and young people where a lot worse than a semi-low cut dress.

A lot of people have said they do not want their children having a roll model like Katy Perry.Guess what if you raise your children right you will be their roll model not a famous singer!

Opinions anyone?

  1. My only thinking on this is why would her stylists (she probably doesn't dress her self) chose this out of everything else they could have dressed on her in. It's a kids show. I don't think any child would watch it and be like ,"mommy that lady looks immodest!" But seriously. Its a kids show. Cover yourself up!! Thats just my opinion.

  2. It looks like even Elmo is distracted.

  3. I couldn't have said it better myself. And that shirt is not low cut... It's a full tank, if you look you can see that there's not even the slightest bit of cleavage.

  4. I don't think it's bad, I agree you see much worse on the streets, but I don't understand why they couldn't choose something a bit more 'kid friendly' since they KNOW the audience IS all kids. Regardless I wouldn't rant and rave about it! IMO, I'm no mother yet.

  5. So annoying they pulled Katy. It's so unfair that some complainers ruin things for everyone.

  6. I don't like that outfit but it has nothing to do with it being modest or not. It is a full tank so it covers everything. I think it is stupid that they pulled it and I hate that some people ruin it for all

  7. I couldn't believe it when I heard they pulled this! I read it on another blog that was upset about Katy's attire and she( the blogger) insinuated that that there were sexual undertones in the script. Really?
I thought the clip was cute and funny. I never payed attention to what she was wearing because I did not find it appalling. Kids are going to see that kind of clothing walking down the street! We can't put blindfolds on our children!
Those parents need to get a grip.

  8. I love what they said on SNL about it - your child can turn on the TV and see a worm crawling out of a dead guy's eye on CSI, but the tops of boobies are obscene. Its ridiculous.

  9. My idea was it was supposed to be like Tinkerbell perhaps. It just sexed up Seasame street some, but come on some of the commercials now days are way worse then her outfit.

  10. I'm all about modesty and will teach my child to be modest..... BUT! I'm with ya here... RIDICULOUS!

Last night my 3 year old watched GLEE and it was the Brittany Spears episode... and my daughter actually said "Mom, are they naked dancing? I love this song!" Oh boy... but I will teach her that while sometimes we see girls dressing this way that is not how WE dress.

  11. I do think it's a bit of an odd choice for her to wear...but I wouldn't have noticed, really, unless it was pointed out b/c it's really not obscene.

  12. I can't imagine a kid looking at that and thinking anything other than "that's yellow." maybe I'm out of touch but is hte Elmo crowd really all that cognizant of cleavage?

    great post.

  13. I think that showing too much on a childs show is not appropriate but compared to some of her other outfits this is nothing. So I agree with their decision but not really. I mean when they first played it on the news I couldnt see why they pulled it in the first place.

I mean kids can go outside and see worse ya know? Ok not really but you get what I'm saying right?
